Paying More Than You Should?
Payroll fees, HR services, add-ons, and disconnected subscriptions can become difficult to justify. Understand what you’re paying for—and what you actually use.
PAYROLL • HR • BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY
You know something needs to improve. You shouldn’t have to take on another full-time project to figure out what.
Growth Advisory Network helps you evaluate payroll, HR, and business technology providers through a guided Mini RFP process. We organize the comparison, connect you with vetted providers and representatives, and help you assess cost, capabilities, support, and fit for your business.
A familiar set of trade-offs
The biggest expense isn’t always on the invoice. It can be the time your team loses, the support you struggle to get, or the work your systems still leave you doing.
Payroll fees, HR services, add-ons, and disconnected subscriptions can become difficult to justify. Understand what you’re paying for—and what you actually use.
Manual work, duplicate entry, and limited integrations can leave your team working around the system instead of benefiting from it.
Employees need clear answers and easy access. Your HR team needs responsive service and tools that help them support the business.
When everyday tasks require multiple logins and workarounds, complexity becomes part of the job.
Researching providers, scheduling demos, gathering proposals, and sorting through different pricing structures takes time you already need elsewhere.
A lower quote means little if implementation disrupts payroll, creates more work, or leaves you with weaker support.
A full formal RFP may be more than your business needs—or your procurement calendar allows right now. A focused review can help you understand your options and prepare for the right decision at the right time.
A focused way to evaluate options
A Mini RFP is a focused request-for-proposal process: we define your priorities, identify relevant providers, and help compare proposals against a shared set of requirements.
Growth Advisory Network coordinates the process with selected providers from our partner network. You stay involved in the decisions while we help organize the work.
Review your current systems, costs, employee count, frustrations, must-have capabilities, and growth plans. Start with the area that matters most.
Separate essential capabilities from optional extras. Establish what better performance, service, and value should look like.
Identify suitable options within our partner network and make introductions to vetted representatives. Focus conversations on your requirements.
Help coordinate meetings, join discussions where useful, evaluate proposals, and support pricing and scope negotiations. Compare total cost, usability, integrations, support, implementation, and future fit.
Weigh trade-offs and identify questions that still need answers. You decide whether to switch, adjust your current services, or plan for a later review.
The outcome should be a clearer decision—even when that means staying with your current provider.
For organizations with formal procurement requirements, this review can inform planning and a future RFP. It does not replace required approvals or procurement procedures.
What the work is moving toward
The initial review establishes scope, priorities, and next steps. These are the things we work toward through the comparison process—not a promise of completed deliverables during your first conversation.
Keep this for the next demo
Use these questions in your next demo, renewal conversation, or proposal review—whether or not you work with GAN.
| Compare | Ask |
|---|---|
| 01Total Cost | What is the annual cost at our employee count and payroll frequency, including setup, add-ons, minimums, and renewal increases? |
| 02Included Capabilities | Which requirements are included in this proposal, and which require another subscription or service? |
| 03Everyday Usability | Can you demonstrate our actual workflows for employees, managers, HR, and finance? |
| 04Support | Who handles urgent issues, what hours are covered, and how are unresolved problems escalated? |
| 05Integrations | Which connections are native, which require additional tools, and who maintains them? |
| 06Implementation | Who owns data migration, configuration, testing, training, and the cutover plan? |
| 07Contract and Exit | What are the renewal terms, cancellation requirements, and options for exporting our data? |
| 08Growth | How will pricing, capabilities, and support change as our business adds employees, locations, or complexity? |
Compare providers using the same requirements. A lower quote is only meaningful when you understand what is included—and what your team will still need to do.

Yes. The review considers capabilities, usability, integrations, support, implementation, and fit for your current needs and growth plans.
Start with your current provider, approximate employee count, main frustrations, and upcoming decision dates. Detailed proposals or invoices can be discussed later through an appropriate secure channel.
When you select a solution through our partner network, the provider may compensate GAN through its existing channel or referral program. We do not add an extra referral fee or take an additional percentage from your company simply because you worked through GAN. CRM and sales consulting projects are separately priced.
